Cravings & Connections

New group starting January 17th, 2018, to be held every Wednesday until February 7th, from 6 - 7:30 pm in San Diego. We are also accepting members for our first virtual group, coming early in 2018. Contact me for details if you'd like to join!

This four-week group for women will focus on the emotional components of eating, un-complicating the relationship with food/body image, and breaking down complicated nutrition topics in a way that's easy to understand and apply. If you struggle with cravings, want to better understand your body’s cues, and like the idea of connecting with other women in a safe, supportive space, then this group is for you. You will also become part of our Cravings & Connections Facebook community. The group will be led by myself and Rachel Freeman, LCSW, NTC. We have combined our therapy and nutrition skill sets to very thoughtfully create not just a group, but a community where profound growth and transformation can occur.

Week 1 | Explore your relationship with food and your body. Examine your self-talk and understand the origin of your inner narrative as it relates to food and emotions.
Week 2 | Connect with your body's cues, discover how blood sugar impacts cravings, and learn how to tap into your body's innate wisdom.
Week 3 | Learn the physiology of digestion and psychology of eating. Understand the mind-body connection and how stress impacts gut health.
Week 4 | Create your new narrative and gain actionable steps for a healthier relationship with food and your body. Learn strategies to detoxify all aspects of your life.

Wellness RESET

A 5-Week Group Program

Hello friends! The Wellness Reset program is one of the best investments you can make in your health, and I'm glad you're interested in learning more about it. I have carefully put this program together using feedback from my nutritional therapy clients regarding the information they found to be the most helpful for their overall health transformation. I also thought about and included what I wish I had known when I first started my own health journey, unsure of where to start or what information to trust. If you are ready to improve your health, want to learn how to be more proactive about wellness, and are interested in getting educated about the root causes of weight issues and chronic illness, Wellness Reset is for you. My goal is for you to gain practical information to improve your health and happiness, and to have fun while connecting with a tribe of like-minded people. 

In this program, you will learn how to:

  • Reset your metabolism for healthy weight
  • Manage stress & sleep better naturally
  • Learn how to choose the right foods for your body
  • Improve your digestion & gut health

WEEK 1 | You are what you eat. Why what we eat matters, how to make informed decisions as a consumer, and the superfoods and supplements you should be using.
WEEK 2 | Trust your gut. Learn exactly how stress impacts your digestion, how to stay healthy during stressful times, and the incredible importance of the gut microbiome.
WEEK 3 | Reset your metabolism. Why some people can't lose weight, how to burn fat with food, and keeping your blood sugar balanced. 
WEEK 4 | Detoxification and beyond. Eliminating toxins from your body, your beauty products, and your home, as well as some daily detox tips and techniques.
WEEK 5 | It's not all in your head. Exploring the mind-body connection to manage stress, decrease anxiety, and improve your sleep naturally.

Each week there will be a "homework" assignment that you can implement right away to improve your health. For example, in Week 3 we will begin a sugar detox with no refined sugar for at least one week. We will review our progress at the end of the 5 weeks, celebrate what we've learned and shared, and each participant will receive personalized feedback from me with an assessment of your health journey and recommendations for your next steps. 

The program is held on a rotating basis, and consists of small groups of no more than five participants to keep an intimate and engaging dynamic. Each week we meet for 1 hour, and groups are held at Nature & Science Medicine in Encinitas. We typically meet at 6:00 pm on Mondays, but additional dates may be added as needed, so it's best to contact me directly about availability.
